Smith frog - Hypsiboas faber
It lives near streams and large permanents ponds. In Atlantic Forest from Argentina to northeastern of Brazil. Males build a nest in bank lake. It is a little pool in mud, which guarantees a security local for tadpoles. Males call for attracting females and the sound seems hammed. Male hugs female and both liberate the gametes together in nest. The eggs form a consisted jelly on surface water. It must not be broken because the eggs would be without oxygen and would die. |

Castanet frog - Itapotihyla langsdorffii
Endangered specie! This specie is classified as vulnerable and has risk of extinction in nature at mid time. It is resulted of environment destruction, it fragmented distribution, isolating populations. I. langsdorffii has a high called like castanets. It calls on rain months and more intensify during or after storms. In this period it can be heard also at daytime. |

Sapo Amarelo - Bufo cf crucifer
Bufo é sapo típico, com o corpo coberto por glândulas que conferem à sua pele um aspecto bastante rugoso. Possui um par de glândulas maiores localizadas logo atrás dos olhos, as glândulas paratóides, que não lançam veneno como muitas pessoas imaginam, este é liberado quando a glândula é espremida e o veneno, em pequena quantidade escorre pela pele do animal. Tal veneno causa apenas pequenas irritações cutâneas em pessoas sensíveis. |
